Washington Program: A Partner To Be Proud Of

The University Honors Program is proud to partner with the UC Davis Washington Program, directed by Cheryl Purifoy.

The UC Davis Washington Program has long been a highly valued partner of the University Honors Program, serving as an option for our students to fulfill their Year 3 project requirement. The Washington Program offers an opportunity to combine course work, exciting field research, and internship experience in the District of Columbia, allowing students to examine their prospective career path while building a resume and developing industry contacts that can lead to employment upon graduation.

The Washington Program’s mission is to provide the highest quality experiential learning program for UC Davis undergraduates by offering professional development and internship opportunities that help inform students' transition from study to professional practice. Many UHP students have successfully completed the Washington Program, including Thuy Vi Nguyen (Class of 2020), the recipient of the 2020 UHP Student Leadership Award. The Washington Program's Director, Cheryl Purifoy, was recently showcased in an article on the UC Davis Public Scholarship and Engagement website honoring her hands-on approach to the Washington Program.
