UC Davis College Awards 2023

Each year, the academic colleges recognize undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in academics, research, and leadership. Several members of the UHP Class of 2023 have been recognized for their achievements and contributions during their time at UC Davis.

College of Agriculture and Environmental Science

The College of Agriculture & Environmental Science awarded eight outstanding students who demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in areas of academic excellence, distinctive leadership, and community or public service. Two UHP students were recognized. Indira D'Souza, who is graduating with a degree in global disease biology with minors in human rights studies and political science, has earned the Mary Regan Meyer Prize. Alicia Hans, a recipient of the Dean’s Circle Award, is graduating with a degree in environmental science and management, with an emphasis in soils and biogeochemistry.

College of Engineering

The Outstanding Senior Awards recognize graduating seniors who have made significant contributions to the learning environment through active academic engagement at UC Davis. This prestigious award is given to seniors across campus and is distinct from the departmental awards. Each College of Engineering department selects one graduating senior per major. The 2023 College of Engineering department citations recognized two UHP graduates. Katie Connally who is graduating with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Shivram Kholsa who is graduating with a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

College of Letters and Science

Lynnette Hersh, who graduated in December with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, was selected to receive the Herbert A. Young Award for outstanding senior based on academic accomplishments and extracurricular activities.

Emma Tolliver, who is graduating with degrees in English and political science, is the recipient of the Leon H. Mayhew Memorial Award. The award is presented each year to an undergraduate majoring in music, art or literature for their academic achievement and service to the university.
