Position Title
3rd Year
Hometown: San Jose, CA.
Future Career: MS, or potentially a PhD, and then become an engineer at a some Surgical Robotics or Med Tech company or start a startup.
Personal Interests: Watching sports/shows/movies, traveling with friends and family, and working out.
Campus Involvement: An undergrad research assistant with Professor Seker's lab, a sub-team lead for Cyclone Robosub (an autonomous submarine design team), and NeuroTech@Davis (a club focused on designing BCI projects) and in UHP.
How I can help you: I can help you adjust to a new environment and feel comfortable at UC Davis as you navigate your journey as a first year. I can be someone that listens without judgment, provides a safe space to talk, and supports you during challenging times. I can also direct you to useful academic or co-curricular resources, such as tutoring centers, libraries, and online tools. Additionally, I can share techniques for managing stress and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
When I started at UC Davis: I felt excited to meet new people and make new memories.
Advice for incoming first-year UHP students: Although easier said than done, I would highly emphasize avoiding procrastination. What has worked for me is forming study groups and collaborating with friends to provide different perspectives when solving problems. Additionally, make time for relaxation and social activities to avoid early burnout. I would suggest getting involved with campus clubs, organizations, or sports teams to meet new people and make friends.
