Personal Interests: I enjoy staying active whether that be having a planned workout at the gym or a spontaneous hike with my friends. I also love music so, karaoking and dancing is my absolute favorite though I am quite awful. In addition to that I am a student so, I guess you could include finding new study spots is a personal interest.
Campus Involvement: physical therapy volunteer at the EFAC
How I can help you: I want to help students as a peer mentor by making them feel supported and comfortable asking for help. I want to share what I have learned from my own college experience, help them find useful campus resources, and encourage them when they are having a difficult time. I also want to get to know my mentees so I can support them with both their academic and personal goals.
When I started at UC Davis I felt... very homesick. Though I only live a hour away this was the first time being away from home for weeks at a time. The idea of UC Davis becoming my home for the next 4 years was very nerve wracking. Then I realized I am currently living what my old self wished and I should take full advantage of the accomplishment.
Advice for incoming first-year UHP students: Don't be afraid to socialize and put yourself out there, everyone is feeling a bit nervous some more than others, and that's okay. With time you'll make a home out of UC Davis.
