Research Experience: Autism Research Assistant, UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute, Davis, CA, (2/04-8/06).    Assist with autism research initiatives in the institute’s Computational Neuroimaging Laboratory.  Research on the anterior cingulate gyrus (ACG) and its role in autism spectrum disorder presented at the annual 2005 UC Davis    Undergraduate Research Conference.  Research on ACG Referenced in Schumann dissertation in 2005.     Frontal lobe project presented at 2006 UC Davis Undergraduate Research Conference. Volunteer Senior Editor, NOTA BENE, Davis, CA, (4/05-4/06).    Responsible for annual UC Davis Classical Studies Journal published February 2006. Author of selected submission “Catiline, Jugurtha and Immoral Rome” Volunteer Research Associate, Emergency Medical Research Associates Program, Sacramento, CA, (3/02-6/02).

Community Service/Service Learning Projects: Diabetes Focus Group Project Manager, Executive Administrator, Clinic Manager, Personnel Manager, Pharmacy Co-Chair, Clinica Tepati, Sacramento, CA, (3/03-8/06).    Developed Comprehensive Diabetes Program for clinic’s diabetic patients designed to empower patients to take control of their illness.  Coordinated all of the clinic’s preceptors and oversaw administrative aspects of student-run health clinic dedicated to serving the underserved.  As Personnel Manager (2003-2004), responsible for staffing weekly student-run clinic with the undergraduate volunteers.  As Pharmacy Committee Co-Chair (2003-2004), responsible for ensuring the organization and maintenance of the clinic pharmacy.  Trained for all clinic positions. 

Affiliations/Positions: Supervisorial Intern, Office of Kern County Supervisor Michael Rubio, Bakersfield, CA, (6/05-9/05).    Researched current state of health coverage for children ages 0-5; developed Clean Fleet Task Force to suppress     growing air quality health hazard in Kern County; developed newsletter and website; worked with constituents on health issues in addition to other concerns of the Fifth District. International Health Group Member, International Health Interest Group (IHIG), Davis, CA, (1/06-6/06). Course Developer, Davis Honors Challenge (DHC), Davis, CA, (9/04-6/05).    With fellow 4th year DHC peers, created a UC Davis course that will be a useful resource for incoming students.
