What amazed me was the students\' work ethic. I probably worked them way too hard, as one student was rumored to have spent more than sixty hours on her old master reproduction project (an amazing study!), but it was inspiring to see them take an idea and push it the maximum. The most fun were our field trips, particularly to the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, where one student pulled me over with great excitement to say there were real Monet paintings in the next room.
