ISHP Seniors Honored for Academic ExcellenceThe Integrated Studies Honors Program is proud that Ryan Andrade was named a winner of the M.S. Ghausi Medal as the outstanding graduating senior in the College of Engineering for the class of 2009. In a rare tie, he shared the honor with Omar Hafez of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Ryan was a senior in Mechanical Engineering who is continuing his education as a graduate student in mechanical engineering at Stanford University. The ISHP is especially proud of the fact that Ryan is the eleventh ISHP student in the past fourteen years to receive this recognition from the College. In fact for the past two years, three ISHP students have received one of the four college medals awarded across the UCD campus in spring commencements. Thomas Desautels was named the winner of the M.S. Ghausi Medal for the class of 2008. Thomas is continuing his education as a graduate student in mechanical engineering at the California Institute of Technology, focusing on biomedical applications. A biographical profile of Thomas is available here. Elizabeth "Betsy" Van Blarigan was named the winner of the Ghausi Medal as the outstanding graduating senior in the College of Engineering for the class of 2007. She is now in medical school at UC Irvine. Betsy’s profile is available here. In the previous year, Kristin Bernick was named the winner of the Ghausi Medal for the class of 2006.
