Awarded to undergraduate students who show a strong commitment to a career in mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering and potential to make a significant contribution in their field of study. UC Davis may nominate up to four candidates each year. To qualify, students must be a US citizen or US national or permanent resident, a sophomore or junior, and have a 3.0 GPA and be in the top 25% of their class. Because UC Davis may nominate a limited number or students, a campus selection process consisting of a pre-application is required by all interested students. Selected students will participate in a campus interview and up to four nominees will be chosen to compete in the national competition.
